QUIET CORNER FIDDLERS (QCF) ACTIVE PLAYLIST April 2011 1. The Active Playlist, plus new tunes introduced afterwards, are the tunes that we play at sessions. The reason we have an Active Playlist is to keep the number of tunes to a reasonable level (one page). In addition to The Active Playlist, Ken maintains, for reference purposes, a QCF Library in pdf format and available to all on a CD, of almost all tunes we have ever read or played. 2. The Active Playlist will be updated by the Playlist Committee (Joan and Ken) about every 6 months. Updating will consist of the removal of tunes in which there is little or no interest (generally, tunes not called for within the last six months), and the addition of newly introduced tunes that have been called for at least once after their introduction. (Anyone wanting a tune to remain on the Active Playlist is advised to call for that tune at least once every six months.)
3. Tunes removed from the Active Playlist will remain in the QCF Library (i.e. Ken's CD), and can be returned to the Active Playlist by being introduced as a new tune by the usual process of letting Chuck know in advance, so that arrangements can be made to have the music available as needed. 4. Anyone wanting a not-called-for tune to remain on the Active Playlist can make that request when the draft list is circulated. 5. Tunes called for at public performances, such as Fred's, are not counted by the committee for the purpose of their deciding which tunes to continue or remove room the Active Playlist; only tunes called for at private sessions are counted. 6. A tune not on the Active Playlist will not be used, either at private sessions or at public performances, unless included on the playlist for a specific performance. |
